What is the UCL ECtHR Moot?
It is a competition for UCL students that provides an opportunity to research and advocate the law of human rights under the Human Rights Act 1998 and the European Convention on Human Rights. Through this, we hope to create awareness and prompt discussion about human rights, with the aim of fostering a UCL human rights culture.

Who can compete in the moot?
Any enrolled UCL student who is studying or has previously studied a human rights law module (including Public Law I and II).

How can I participate in the moot?
Email your interest to until the 16th November 2009. The results as to who will participate, as well as the first round problem question, will be available on the 20th November 2009.

Who will judge the moot?
The domestic rounds (3 of them) will be judged by UK human rights practitioners, academics, or ex-UCL alumni with relevant experience.
The final round will be judged by ECtHR Judges at the court in Strasbourg, on Friday 5th March 2010.

What are the key dates of the moot?
Preliminary Round - Monday 7th December to Friday 11th December 2008.
Octos - Monday 11th January to Friday 15th January 2010.
Semi Finals - Week beginning 1st February 2010.
Finals - Friday 5th March 2010.
