UCL ECHR Moot

Arguing both sides of the law of human rights

imageWelcome to the ECHR Moot!  We offer you the opportunity to research and argue human rights, both under Human Rights Act and the European Convention of Human Rights case-law. Domestic rounds will be held in UCL and will be judged by UK lawyers (barristers, judges, legal academics). The semis and the finals took place in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and was judged by judges Rosakis, Tulkens and Spielmann on April 3rd 2009. For the winners listing, event details, photos and reviews of the finals please check here.

We have prepared a guide to mooting, which is available on our How to Moot page.  Here, you can find information on mooting technique and also links to other sites providing practical information and advice.

If you’d like to get involved in legal research, our How to Research page is the ideal place to find out more and get advice.  There is also a suggested bibliography which is ideal for newcomers to human rights.

Finally, if you have any further questions, it might be a good idea to take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions page.  If you have any further queries, or would like to get in touch with us about joining the ECHR team, you can email us at .
