Event Analysis: London G20 protests - were you there?

Understandably, the G20 summit took place during an awkward time for the dedicated hardworking liberal student. Perhaps it was all part of a well calculated damage limitation risk analysis done by the summit’s original planners way back in the distant past in 2008 to stifle busy students during deadline and exam season? No matter. The more important question to ask is: were you there? And if not, why?

Media pundits have spent the last seven days twirling on their investigative hats and doing 180 degree turns based on newer evidence coming forward through citizen journalism (is citizen the right word to use?), raising many questions on the validity of news gathering and how these issues have been presented. Can we trust the media? Were you at the Bank of England and kettled in for 7 hours, or did you make it to the alternative summit or manage to sit tight for the climate camp Bishop’s Gate takeover? If you have stories, comments, pictures or anything you would like to contribute (even if you were watching events unfold online or want to engage with any of these issues actively) then please send them on to and we will print them in this space - otherwise feel free to add a comment below.
