The Exchange
Editorial: Have Your Say
With the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights receiving particular attention in the press, the issue of human rights abuses around the world is more pertinent than ever. Notwithstanding the brilliant work of organisations such as Amnesty (view their latest video here), there is still a huge amount of work to be done.
In the news recently, we’ve also heard of the US President Elect, Barack Obama’s plans to close the infamous Guantanamo Bay detention camp, and of course the current situation in Zimbabwe has never been far from the front pages. We want to know what you really think about the situation, what you would do if you had the power to change things, and where you think things went wrong.
However, human rights abuses are not always happening thousands of miles from home. We’re particularly interested in your views on subjects which matter to you! We’ve already had fantastic contributions in areas as diverse as hoodies and the credit crunch, and we’re actively seeking the opinions of our readers in areas outside the purely political human rights sphere.
The Exchange relies on the contributions of our readers, so if there’s something that really fires you up, what are you waiting for? Visit our exchange submissions page for more information.
